Role description

The Head of Global IT Operations leads the organization’s IT operations function across all regions, ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable IT services. The role is accountable for maintaining high system availability, optimizing IT infrastructure performance, and supporting business continuity across global operations. This role drives the global IT operations strategy, aligning technology services with business needs while ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Head of Global IT Operations oversees infrastructure, network, cloud, and end-user services, and ensures adherence to IT governance and security standards. The position requires strong leadership to manage distributed teams, foster cross-functional collaboration, and lead transformation initiatives such as automation, cloud adoption, and service optimization. The Head of Global IT Operations is a full-time (100%) leadership position.

Key responsibilites


IT Operations Strategy & Planning
  • Defines and drives the global IT operations strategy aligned with business and IT objectives.
  • Develops and implements operational roadmaps, including infrastructure, cloud, and service management strategies.
  • Ensures scalability, resilience, and performance of IT systems to support business growth.
Service Delivery & Performance Management
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs and SLAs for IT service delivery and infrastructure performance.
  • Ensures high availability and reliability of IT systems, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
  • Drives continuous service improvement through data analysis, automation, and best practices (e.g., ITIL).
Infrastructure & Technology Management
  • Oversees global IT infrastructure including data centers, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user computing.
  • Ensures effective capacity planning, system upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Leads incident, problem, and change management processes.
Security, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensures IT operations comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Partners with Information Security to manage risks, vulnerabilities, and incident response.
  • Oversees disaster recovery and business continuity planning and execution.
Project & Resource Management
  • Leads global IT operations projects, including infrastructure transformation and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Allocates resources effectively across regions and priorities.
  • Manages vendor relationships and external service providers.
People Leadership & Development
  • Leads and develops a global, distributed IT operations team.
  • Manages recruitment, performance, and succession planning.
  • Coaches and mentors leaders to build a high-performing, service-oriented organization.
Cross-functional & International Collaboration
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders, IT functions, and regional teams to align priorities.
  • Ensures standardization and global consistency of IT operations processes.
  • Promotes knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across regions.

What we look for


Qualifications and experience
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree (e.g., MBA or relevant technical discipline).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years in a senior leadership role managing global or regional teams.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years experience in IT operations or infrastructure management.
  • Strong experience in cloud platforms, infrastructure, and enterprise systems.
