Habasit Mexico recently hosted a week dedicated to hygienic design and food safety, bringing together food industry professionals, customers and EHEDG experts at our production facility in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The program combined a dedicated customer training on conveyor belt hygiene with the EHEDG Advanced Course on Hygienic Design, reinforcing Habasit’s commitment to knowledge sharing, food safety and hygienic solutions.

Focus on hygienic conveyor belts and CIP

The week began on July 27 with Habasit Mexico’s first training session, Hygienic Design of Conveyor Belts and CIP, designed specifically for customers from the food industry.

Led by Enrico Visconti, Senior Expert in New Business Development, the training focused on the key requirements of hygienic conveyor belt design and the principles that support effective cleaning, cleanability and operational reliability.

Participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of how hygienic design can contribute to safer and more efficient food processing operations, with a particular focus on conveyor systems and CIP (Cleaning in Place).

EHEDG Advanced Course brings industry expertise together

From July 28 to 30, Habasit Mexico co-organized and hosted the EHEDG Advanced Course on Hygienic Design at its Guadalajara facility.

As a long-standing EHEDG partner, Habasit is committed to advancing hygienic design and food safety across the food industry. Supporting education and helping industry professionals strengthen their expertise is an important part of this commitment.

The comprehensive three-day course covered a broad range of topics essential to hygienic food production, including hygienic design principles, food safety hazards, construction materials, welding, pumps and valves, hygienic installation and maintenance, cleaning and disinfection, facility layout, as well as EHEDG testing and certification.

Among the authorized EHEDG instructors was Enrico Visconti, EHEDG Working Group Co-Chair for Conveyor Systems, who shared his technical expertise and practical experience with the participants throughout the course.

Sharing knowledge for safer food production

Bringing together customer training and an advanced EHEDG course created a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, discuss real-world challenges and highlight the importance of hygienic design throughout the food processing environment.

Through initiatives such as these, Habasit continues to support customers and industry professionals in developing practical expertise and implementing solutions that contribute to food safety, cleanability and reliable operations.
