Can a TPU belt perform better than a silicone one?
Improving performance and cleanability in high-speed weighing applications

A customer in the food industry was using a silicone-covered belt from another supplier for a high-speed checkweigher application, which required high product grip. Despite the belt's great release properties, it became apparent that, over time, the silicone surface accumulated dust and dirt, which were difficult to remove, posing a challenge for hygiene and maintenance.
Solution: We proposed replacing the silicone belt with our TPU belt, FSB-2EIC, designed for both high grip and easy cleanability. The customer conducted performance tests using high-speed cameras to evaluate product stability during weighing.
Results: The FSB-2EIC belt demonstrated significantly reduced product movement compared to the silicone belt, leading to improved weighing accuracy. Additionally, the TPU surface proved far easier to clean, enhancing hygiene while reducing cleaning time, resource usage, and equipment downtime.
Our TPU belt not only met the performance requirements but also delivered high level of sanitation of the belt surface and operational efficiency —making it a more effective solution than the previously used silicone alternative.
