Role description

The mission of the Purchase Ledger is the form part of the Finance Team and assist in all aspects of the purchase ledger process in order to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This is a part time (22.5 hours, 9.30am-2.30pm Monday to Friday), fixed term role for approximately 3-6 months.

Your main challenges

  • Resolving queries between purchase orders/goods receipts and invoices
  • Liaise with shared service centre (Poland) on posting of invoices and resolving any queries they may raise
  • Distributing & following up on invoices for approval
  • Preparing BACS/SEPA payments runs, as well as ad hoc payments
  • Assist with cash posting, including direct debits
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, requesting copy invoices / additional information
  • Month end close process for Accounts Payable, including reconciliation to nominal
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for Accounts Payable nominals
  • Ad hoc analysis/investigation requests such as for year-end audits.
  • Assist with additional tasks/projects within the department as and when required (e.g. DokuWeb)

What we look for

Your education and experience

  • End to End Purchase Ledger experience essential
  • 5 years
  • Ability to demonstrate effective debt management
  • Competence in use of Word and Excel, including lookups and pivot tables
  • SAP knowledge preferable/desirable
  • Relevant qualifications an advantage
  • Educated to GCSE equivalent in English and Maths.
